I love to Time Travel in MyTown! boo-yah!

Want to be like Marty McFly in Back to the Future and time travel? You can in MyTown! 

Clock hack 1

1. Collect Rent
2. Set clock forward 30min in iPhone/iPod touch settings
3. Re-open MyTown app and collect future rent!
4. Repeat X times
5. Once you set your clock back to the present time, your properties won't earn any more rent until the time you checked in until passes. Essentially you can collect rent in advance so you don't lose any money as you sleep.

Note: Don't set your clock too far ahead as the properties will 'break' and not earn rent

Clock hack 2

• If you missed some rent collections, just set your clock back to when you stopped collecting and get back that lost money!

Congrats! Now you are the Master of Space and Time!

I love to "travel" in MyTown. Here's how!

Wanted to visit a city and check-in to a location you thought was cool but don't have the funds to do it in real life? You can do it in MyTown easily with just a bit of effort!


Location Hack 1

1. Turn GPS off
2. Open MyTown app
3. Click 'cancel' if prompted to turn on location services
4. Click 'Check-in'
5. Search for anything (ex: "taco bell")
6. Voila! you are prompted with a list of cities and you can be wherever you want

Note: If you check the booyah blog (http://blog.booyah.com/booyah/2010/02/mytown-contest-update.html), you'll notice a few unknown cities (Abilene, TX ?!) at the top. Obviously some people have figured it out and so the top A named cities are getting some good check-in and popularity ratings

  

Location Hack 2

1. Essentially like Location Hack 1 but using a wifi connection that was broadcast from my phone in where there was no GPS signal bypasses some steps
2. Turn on phone wifi signal and connect to iphone/ipod touch
3. Start up MyTown
4. Search for something to Check-in to
5. I could choose my city of choice w/o needing to turn my gps off!

Note: To change to another city, just restart the app and follow the same steps!

HINT: For the most popular hot spots in any one city, click the refresh icon to get the city's default list of check-in venues!

MyTown Virtual Store Tips

• Buy the five (5) instant property slots when you are able to. And when I say 'Buy,' I mean with virtual money and not your own...unless you are a spendoholic and feel like blowing a couple bucks.

• If you haven't reached level 40 yet and still need points, Concert Tickets and Lobsters are a great deal!

• Sci-fi theme is not worth any money. default is much much better.

• Monster background though?  buy it (with virtual money).

Side tip: If you are over the $9,999,999,999 mark and don't know how much money you have, no -You didn't break the game and the money is still counting. You can check your money total on the screen where you upgrade properties.
